Wat genieten we toch lekker hier. Gister en vandaag waren een beetje rare dagen dat wel, ik moest namelijk naar het ziekenhuis voor mijn teentje. En jep, die is dus echt gebroken! De mensen van het ziekenhuis waren super aardig en hielpen ons snel en ik mocht zelfs de röntgen foto's meenemen als souvenir haha. Anyways, we hebben het dus lekker rustig aan gedaan want lopen gaat niet zo snel met Corry Kreupel hier. Morgen gaan we naar Elafonisi en we hopen dat het weer een beetje meezit. Vandaag hing er een rode vlag op het strand in Platanias want de golven waren mega groot. Elafonisi is aan de zuid kant van het eiland dus misschien hebben we daar meer geluk. Oke, ik ga nu lekker slapen want de bus vertrekt om 9 uur s'ochtends! Kus!

We are enjoying every single second of our trip here. Yesterday and today were a bit strange days tho because I had to go to the hospital for my little toe. And yep, turns out it's broken! The people at the hospital were so nice to me and they helped us really fast. I even got to take my X-ray pictures home as a souvenir haha. Anyways, we have just been taking it easy cause walking is not going so fast for this crippled 80 year old. Tomorrow we are going to Elafonisi and we hope the weather will be better then. We had a red flag today at the beach because the waves for massive. Elafonisi is on the south coast of the island so maybe we get lucky. Okay, I will go to bed now cause our bus leaves at 9 in the morning! Kiss!

Genieten! Het voelt heeeerlijk om even weg te zijn van alles! Hier zijn een paar snapshots van Platanias, Kreta. De temperatuur is hier precies goed maar je merkt wel dat het toeristen seizoen bijna voorbij is. Heel veel tentjes zijn al gesloten voor de winter en de stranden zijn leeg. Maar dat maakt ons helemaal niks uit want wij zijn hier juist om te relaxen. We hebben nog niet veel ondernomen, voornamelijk het plaatsje verkennen, op het strand liggen en lekker uit eten gaan. Morgen staat er een couples massage op het programma en misschien nemen we de bus naar Chania (de grote stad). Dat hangt wel een beetje af van hoe mijn kleine teentje zich voelt... Ik heb em namelijk super hard gestoten en nu kan ik er niet echt op staan. Ik hoorde ook een raar geluidje en de zijkant van mijn voet is heel dik. Ik hoop dat het morgen ochtend voorbij is en dat het niet gebroken is ofzo. Ik heb echt nog nooit zo hard mijn teen gestoten, my god! Ik was aan het huilen en lachen tegelijk.. :-p Pfffff, wat een faal. Echt weer een Esmee actie haha. Keep you posted! Xx


t feels amaaazing to be away from everything for a little while! Here are some snapshots from Platanias, Crete. The temperature is just right but we do notice that the tourist season is almost over. A lot of places are closed for the winter already and the beach is nearly empty. But that's completely fine cause we actully came here to relax. We didn't do much so far, mostly exploring town, laying at the beach and eat good food. Tomorrow we have a couples massage planned and later we might go to Chania (the big city). It depens a bit on how my little toe is feeling... I bumped it super hard and now I can't really stand on it. I heared this weird sound and the side of food is really swollen now. I hope that it will be better tomorrow and that it turns out it's not broken or something. I've never hit my toe so hard in my life, my god! I was laughing and crying at the same time.. :-p Pfff, what a fail. Typical Esmee action hahaha. Keep you posted! Xx

Yes het is eindelijk zover! Rond 2 uur s'nachts zullen M en ik aankomen bij ons verblijf na een lange reis vanaf Umea. We zitten op dit moment te wachten in Stockholm op onze vlucht naar Chania. We gaan een weekje naar Kreta en ik heb er echt super veel zin in. Het is precies wat ik nodig heb op dit moment: pure ontspanning. Dat zal me zeker goed doen! Ik ga natuurlijk veel foto's maken die ik hier ga delen. Ik ga nu naar de gate! So long xx

Yes finally the time has come! Around 2 a.m. M and me will arrive at our apartment after a long trip from Umea. We are waiting for our plane to Chania at the moment. We will stay on Crete for a week and I'm so excite. It is just what I need right now: pure relaxation. It will do me good! Of course I will take lots of pictures and publish them here. I'm going to the gate now! So long xx

Hoi allemaal! Dit weekend is echt voorbij gevlogen! Ik heb wat gestudeerd en voor de rest hebben we heerlijk gerelaxed. Ik voel me een stuk beter en ik denk dat de verkoudheid weg is. Yay! Morgen ochtend heb ik een lecture en in de middag ga ik naar de bieb om nog wat meer te studeren. Ik hoop echt zo zo zo erg dat we op vakantie kunnen aan het eind van de maand dus vandaar dat ik nu al aan het studeren ben hehe. Hou jullie up to date over de vakantie plannen!

Hi everyone! This weekend really flew by! I just studied a bit and of course also relaxed a lot. I feel a lot better and I think my cold is completly gone now. Yay! Tomorrow I will have a lecture in the morning and I will go to the library in the afternoon to study some more. I really really really hope we can take this trip at the end of the month so for now I'm just studying like there is no tomorrow haha. Keep you guys updated on the vacation plans!

Hier wat gezellige herfstfoto's! Ik neem altijd super veel foto's van de omgeving want het is hier echt prachtig en ik vond het een leuk om ze hier te posten. Helaas worden de dagen weer korter dus is het rond 4 uur al een beetje schemerig. Dat betekend wel dat we binnen lekker de kaarsjes aan kunnen steken! Afgelopen week moest ik even naar IKEA voor wat nieuw keukengerei en natuurlijk kwam ik thuis met een grote tas vol met hebbedingetjes, oops! Nieuwe dekentjes, fluffy kleedjes, plantjes, kandelaars.. Ons huisje is nu bijna klaar voor de winter, we moeten alleen nog de lampjes ophangen op het balkon. Als dat is gedaan zal ik wat foto's plaatsen van ons knusse winterpaleisje.

Here are some cozy autumn pictures! I always take so many pictures because it's just so beautiful here and I thought it would be nice to share them here. Unfortunately the days are getting shorter now and it starts getting a bit dusk outside at 4. It does mean that we can light the candles! Last week I had to go to IKEA to buy some tools for the kitchen and I came home with a big bag, oops! New blankets, fluffy rugs, plants and candles.. Our home is almost ready for winter, the only thing we have to do now is to hang up the fairy lights on the balcony. Once that's done I will post some pictures here of our cozy winter palace.

Vrijdaggggg! M en ik gaan zo lekker een filmpje kijken met een grote bak popcorn. We zijn allebei nog een beetje aan het snotteren dus we doen het rustig aan dit weekend. Vandaag hebben we allebei nieuwe jeans gekocht plus nog wat kadotjes die binnenkort verstuurd worden naar Nederland. Dit weekend wil ik veel studeren aangezien M en ik proberen een klein weekje er tussenuit te knijpen aan het einde van de maand. We hebben namelijk anderhalve week lesvrij voor ons examen en normaal is dit maar een paar dagen. Het hangt wel van heel veel af maar ik hoop echt dat we het voor elkaar kunnen krijgen. Fridayyyyy! M and I are about to watch a movie with a big bowl of popcorn. We are still a bit sick so we're just taking it easy this weekend. Today we both bought new jeans and also some presents that will be sent to Holland soon. This weekend I want to study ahead cause we're actually trying to plan a little getaway at the end of the month. We both have one and a half week free from school before our exam and normally we only get a few days. It depends on a lot of different things but I really hope it works out. Keep you posted! xoxo

Dinsdag was ik in de studio van Umemodellen om te zien of ik lid wil worden. Umemodellen is een fotoclubje met fotografen, modellen, stylisten en visagisten die elke week samen komen om iets cools te creëren. Deze week was het thema "vrije fotografie" waarbij de studio beschikbaar is voor iedereen en je kunt doen wat je wilt (eigenlijk geen thema dus haha). Deze week waren er alleen fotografen en dat betekende dat ik 3 uur lang voor de camera heb gestaan! Een goede oefening! Deze foto's zijn gemaakt door Emil die ook voor het eerst in de studio was. We zijn een goed duo al zeg ik het zelf. De foto's zijn echt gaaf geworden! Ik laat meer foto's zien van de andere fotografen zodra ik die toegestuurd krijg.

Op dit moment zit ik in een lecture en kan ik echt niet concentreren. Over een paar uur moet ik weer terug naar het lab om de rest van mijn experimenten af te maken. Ik hoop dat ik een beetje vroeg klaar ben want ik was al super vroeg op het lab. Kan niet wachten tot het weekend is en ik met een goed glas wijn op de bank kan ploffen! Wordt ik oud??


Tuesday I was at the studio of Umemodellen to see if I want to become a member. So Umemodellen is a photo club of photographers, models, stylists and makeup artists who come together every week to create something cool. This weeks theme was "free photography" so the studio was open and we could just do whatever came to our minds (no theme actually haha). This week there were only photographers so that meant that I had to be in front of the camera for 3 hours long! A good practice! These pictures are taken by Emil who was also there for the first time. We make a good team if I say so myself. The pictures turned out really nice! I will show the pictures that the other photographers took once I get them.

At the moment I'm in a lecture and I really can't focus at all. In a few hours I will go back to lab to finish my experiments. I hope it won't take me too long cause I was at the lab super early today. I can't wait for the weekend so I can drink some good wine from my soft couch. Am I getting old??

fall sweater

Ik woon ongeveer in deze trui. Hij is zo lekker warm! Nu ik dit schrijf staat de buiten temperatuur op 3 graden.. 3 graden mensen!! Let trouwens aub niet op mijn zieke hoofdje. Ik ben al weken aan het tobben en nu dat het kouder wordt lijkt iedereen wel verkouden of ziek te zijn. Ik drink heel veel kamille thee en ik eet heel pittig dus hopelijk helpt dat een beetje. Morgen heb ik weer een afspraak bij mijn social counselor en ik heb echt heel veel vooruitgang geboekt. Ik ben nog lang niet de oude maar ik ben super happy dat ik met eigen ogen zie dat het echt wel goed gaat komen. :-)

Morgen ga ik trouwens nog iets super leuks doen (denk ik)! Ik ben benaderd door iemand van een vereniging van fotografen, modellen, stylisten en visagisten. Ze komen elke week bij elkaar om iets tofs te creëren en morgen ga ik een kijkje nemen. Ik heb geen idee wat de bedoeling is maar ik laat me verassen! Ik heb er in elk geval heel erg zin in. :-)

I basically live in this sweater. It's so warm! At the very moment I'm writing this, the temperature outside is 3 degrees.. 3 degrees people!! Please don't mind my sick face on the pictures. I've been going back and forth healthwise and now that the weater is getting colder everybody seems so be sick or have a cold. I'm drinking lots of camomile tea and I'm eating a lot of spicy food so hopefully it helps. Tomorrow I have another appoitment with my social counselor and I really made progress. I'm still not the old me but I'm so happy that I can see now that it really does get better. :-)

Tomorrow I have another fun thing (I think)! I was approached by someone from a creative network of photographers, models, stylist and makeup artists. Every week they come together to create something cool and tomorrow I will have a look for myself. I have no idea what I'm gonna do but I'm really excited. :-)

Ik hou van zondagen.. Vandaag scheen het zonnetje en dus ben ik lekker naar buiten gegaan. Ik had een fika aan de rivier samen met M <3 en verder hebben we eigenlijk vrij weinig gedaan. Perfecte zondag als je het mij vraagt. I just love Sunday.. It was really sunny today so I had to go outside. M and me had a little fika at the river <3 and just chilled the rest of the day. Perfect Sunday if you ask me.
